Hannah Knapton designs, makes and sells beautiful textiles for home furnishings. Inspired by nature and eclectic English tastes, designs feature a painterly mix of florals, ombre and pattern to bring a unique mix of nature, colour and a sense of fun into any interior.
The “Hannah Knapton” brand was born out of designer Hannah’s passion for print, pattern, colour and nature. A graduate of The University of Manchester’s Textile Design and Design Management course Hannah worked for a short while in the textile industry before training and working as a primary school teacher in North Yorkshire. After spending time dreaming about running her own business and being able to use her creative skills to make beautiful products she decided to take the plunge and set up her own design brand.
Inspired by nature and eclectic English tastes
Hannah loves going on country walks with her labrador Molly. The changing seasons, wild flowers, animals and weather inspire Hannah. She is often outside taking photos while her dog waits patiently for her to throw a stick! She also loves eclectic English tastes and enjoys snapping photos of beautiful patterns, colours and designs found around museums, towns and stately homes.
All designs are painted in Hannah’s North Yorkshire studio. High resolution scanning and digital printing of the designs creates beautiful quality prints where the colours and brush strokes of the paintings can be seen.
Hannah’s printed designs are creating using state of the art digital printing which allows Hannah to create short print runs of unique designs. Digital printing is also good for the environment as the digital printing process requires less water than traditional printing methods and reduces transportation miles as it can be done here in the UK.
Creating high quality products is high on Hannah’s agenda. Her linen and cotton products are made using 100% natural fibres and the velvet has a very high cotton content (88% cotton and 12% polyester). All cushions are filled with luxury curled duck feather pads, made in the UK, and are finished with concealed zip fastenings.
All products are designed, printed and made in the UK with as many components being sourced from within the UK as possible.
